Dubai’s extreme climate — 45°C+ summers, intense UV, salt-laden sea air near the coast, and the drying effect of year-round air conditioning — degrades paint faster than almost anywhere else in the world. Exterior paint that lasts 10 years in the UK may show significant fading and peeling within 3–4 years in Dubai. Richies provides professional interior and exterior painting services across Dubai, using premium brands including Jotun and Dulux, with proper surface preparation that determines how long the result lasts.
We inspect all surfaces for cracks, holes, previous paint condition, mould staining, and efflorescence (salt crystallisation on exterior walls — common in Dubai’s coastal areas). Preparation receives the same time investment as painting.
All cracks, holes, and surface imperfections are filled with appropriate filler — flexible filler for moving joints, rigid filler for static surfaces — and sanded smooth.
Primer is not optional in Dubai. The correct primer for the surface — alkali-resistant primer for new concrete and render, adhesion primer for difficult surfaces, anti-mould primer for bathroom areas — is applied and allowed to dry completely before top coating.
Two coats of premium emulsion (interior) or masonry paint (exterior) are applied with appropriate drying time between coats. Single-coat painting looks acceptable when new but shows uneven coverage within months.
All furniture and floors are protected with dust sheets during painting and uncovered on completion. We remove all tape, dispose of waste, and walk through the finished work with you for sign-off.
Dubai’s climate creates paint challenges that most painting guides don’t address:
